    INJURED SULTAN OUT OF MCMAHON FIGHT

    Sultan. Former WBF champion Dondon Sultan has had to pull out of his battle against Shannon McMahon scheduled on November 21 in Sydney. Former Australian “Promoter of the Year” Peter Maniatis who hosts a popular weekly TV boxing show in Sydney informed www.insidesports.ph, Standard Today and Viva Sports that Sultan injured his leg in a Pan Asian Boxing Association title fight against Shannon Taylor last October 31.

    SULTAN LOSES BY TKO IN AUSTRALIA

    Dondon Sultan has suffered a sixth round TKO at the hands of newcomer Serge Yannick in a fight card at the Coburg basketball stadium in Victoria, Australia. Fighting as a super middleweight Sultan was taking a beating when referee Ignatius Missailidis stepped in and called a halt at 2:59 of round six. The Filipino was facing a shutout on the scorecards of all three judges 50-46 when the fight was stopped.     Former World Boxing Foundation (WBF) welterweight champion Dondon “El Supremo” Sultan scored a first round knockout victory over Damien “The Rock” Smith while featherweight Ernie Gonzales Jr won a lopsided six round decision over Jerry Spanidis at the Revesby Workers Club in New South Wales, Australia, Friday night.     DONDON Sultan found his reign at the World Boxing Foundation (WBF) short-lived when he lost his welterweight title to French challenger Hamza Issa (Sunday RP time) in a controversial stoppage at the ninth round at the Salle Edgard Quinet, Calais, Pas de Calais, France.
