Nothing more to prove, says Donaire
By Joaquin Henson, The Philippine Star, Nov 20, 2009
MANILA, Philippines - WBA interim superflyweight champion Nonito Donaire Jr. said yesterday Manny Pacquiao has nothing left to prove in boxing after cementing his Hall of Fame status by capturing his seventh world title in seven weight divisions with a convincing 12th round stoppage of Miguel Cotto in Las Vegas. Donaire watched Pacquiao bludgeon Cotto from his ringside seat at the House of Blues in the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino last Saturday night. And he described Pacquiao’s perfo  Read Full Story >>>

Nonito Donaire & the Small Boxing Warriors
    By Gina Caliboso, RingsideReport.com, Nov 16, 2009
Suddenly, the bantamweight and flyweight divisions just got interesting. This past Halloween, on Showtime, a night for trick or treating and innocent mayhem, Joseph “King Kong” Agbeko, 27-2, 22 KO’s, was ceremoniously handed a loss by Yonnhy Perez, 20-0, 14 KO’s, in what I consider to be a true statement of irony over 12 rounds. Oh, Vic “Raging Bull” Darchinyan, you just may have to fight Yonnhy Perez now! Now, wait, could it be that Nonito “The   Read Full Story >>>

The Harder They Fall: Rocco Santomauro, Chad Dawson, Nonito Donaire and much More!
    By Sunset Thomas, DogHouseBoxing.com, Nov 4, 2009
Some months ago Frankie Gambino and I paid a visit to Chad Dawson at the International MMA Fight Club here in Las Vegas. At the time Chad was preparing for a rematch with Antonio Tarver under the watchful eye of conditioning Guru Robert “Bobby” Chiodini. While we were there we had the pleasure of meeting another of Chiodini’s protégés’—one Rocco Santomauro. Santomauro was an amateur then but as Frankie noted, “See the way the Rocco kid studies Dawson in  Read Full Story >>>

    Fight date set for Donaire
By Joaquin Henson, The Philippine Star, Oct 28, 2009
MANILA, Philippines - Interim WBA superflyweight champion Nonito Donaire Jr. is pencilled to fight on Feb. 13 in Las Vegas but no opponent has been confirmed by his manager Cameron Dunkin and promoter Top Rank. A plan to move Donaire up to bantamweight was scuttled and it now appears certain that he will continue to campaign in the 115-pound superflyweight division. Although Donaire is not considered a world champion at the moment as he holds only the “interim” version, Top Ran  Read Full Story >>>

Donaire pitches in for Ondoy victims
By Philip Ella Juico, The Philippine Star, Oct 7, 2009
More than a week after Typhoon Ondoy’s onslaught, several parts of southern Luzon are still under water. The physical damage and devastation created by Ondoy has ran up to billions of pesos with 294 reported dead and scores more injured and missing. The emotional havoc it wrought can never be measured. The damage was so widespread that everyone, from the richest to the poorest of the poor were victims. One low-profile Filipino-Chinese businessman who once served in the diplomatic corps,  Read Full Story >>>
