Inactive Glenn Donaire unlikely to return, brother indicates By Colin Seymour, Examiner.com, Jun 22, 2009
San Leandro light flyweight Glenn Donaire’s retirement has not been announced, but a recent blog post by his brother Nonito, the IBF flyweight champion, confirmed that Glenn is nowhere near the boxing scene anymore.
That’s also what Nonito told me the day after his spectacular fourth-round stoppage of Raul Martinez in April -- that Glenn is dedicated to family life and a permanent vocation in the Bay Area, and has lost his enthusiasm for boxing.
Glenn turns 30 this year and was accepti Read Full Story >>>IBF SAYS NOBODY EXCEPT VIVA SPORTS COMPLAINED ABOUT SOLIS-DONAIRE DECISION By Ronnie Nathanielsz, PhilBoxing.com, Jul 15, 2008 IBF Championship Committee chairman Lidsey Tucker says the IBF has “not received a single complaint” regarding the scorecards in the IBF light flyweight title fight between Glenn Donaire and Mexican champion Ulises “Archie” Solis in Hermosillo, Mexico last Saturday.
Tucker told Viva Sports "we have not received a single complaint except for your complaint." He said that unless "someone can prove that one or more judges did something wrong” there is no way the IBF can take action. “

He said Donaire’s decision to move down to light flyweight seemed to benefit him as Read Full Story >>> THE MEXICAN SCORING SYSTEM - A TAKE OFF FROM THAILAND? By Ed de la Vega, DDS, PhilBoxing.com, Jul 14, 2008 Los Angeles, CA:- They held a boxing card last Saturday at the Palenque de la Expo in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. The event was not too bad save for the guys they selected as “judges” particularly for the main event and the supporting main event.
It was bad enough that those that judged the Solis-Donaire IBF light flyweight title fight screwed up the scoring. But what really stunk was it was repeated on the main event.
The extremely mediocre judging ruined what could have been a beautifu Read Full Story >>> ‘FIRST ROUND TKO DEFEAT TO GORRES MORE PAINFUL FOR DONAIRE THAN LOSS TO SOLIS’ By Alex P. Vidal, PhilBoxing.com, Jul 14, 2008 LAS VEGAS, Nevada – A Filipino-American boxing correspondent for a Philippine newspaper said Glenn “Boyet” Donaire (17-4, 9 KOs) has nothing to be ashamed of after a foiled bid to capture the International Boxing Federation (IBF) light flyweight title on Saturday (July 12) in Palenque De La Expo, Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico saying “Donaire’s 2005 technical knockout (TKO) loss to Z Gorres was more painful.”
“At least he gave (IBF defending champion) Ulises Solis a hell of a fight unlike in his Read Full Story >>> Click here to read more news on Glenn Donaire
